The Warwick

The Lanesborough

The Lippincott

This elegant building was the home of J.B. Lippincott Company, founded in 1792 by two bookstall operators, Benjamin Warner and Jacob Johnson. By the middle of the 19th century the firm became one of the largest publishers in the English-speaking world. The firm published pieces by Oscar Wilde, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Washington Irving and Edgar Allan Poe.

The Bank Building
